The Oak Fair at Stock Gaylard - The 10th Anniversary

We had so much interest last year at the Oak Fair that we could not resist when asked to exhibit at their special two day event this year which marks their 10th Anniversary.

The event will be packed with woodcrafts (such as trug making and have a go at wood turning), music, tractor and trailer rides around the spectacular deer park, blacksmithing, charcoal making and basket weaving demonstrations as well as interactive falconry.

There will also be over 170 tradestands! (including us!) so please come and see us for a chance to see our metalwork up close and chat to us about how we can help make your garden that extra bit special.

Evershot Country Fair

In West Dorset’s highest village, the Evershot Country Fair is an event for all the family.  Watch traditional rural crafts demonstrated and talk to the craftsmen and women.  There are over sixty varied stalls to browse, a bar, local cider, live music, bouncy castle, games and ringside entertainment.  Lunch options range from traditional hog roast to ploughman’s lunches, fresh baked pizzas from a wood oven or the slightly more exotic bison burgers and elk venison stew.  Lots of tea, cake, ice-cream and to perk you up, quality coffee.  The food marquee provides many interesting goodies from Dorset and beyond.  To finish, take a trailer ride around the beautiful Melbury Estate and deer park. There is something for everyone.

Entry is only £2 for adults and is free for children!

Dogs on leads welcome!

Charity Specialist Plant Fair - Mapperton

We were keen to re-visit this event in which we exhibited in the Autumn. The fantastic setting lends itself to the fair and the stunning gardens of Mapperton House leave visitors enthused and keen to stock up on lovely plants and gardenware.

The Spring Sale is one of the largest of the Charity Plant Fairs and is situated in the grounds of Mapperton House which is a Jacobean Manor House near Beaminster.  Mapperton has superb gardens (voted in the top 50 of the UK) which are included in the entry price of the sale.  It also has a restaurant/cafe and gift shop.  With over 35 specialist stands which includes gifts as well as a massive choice of plants, this popular sale gives a massive choice and is great for plant lovers in the area as well as those who want a 'Gardeners Day out' in fantastic surroundings.

Entrance is only £3 which is donated to Christian Aid

South Dorset Point to Point - Milborne St Andrew

We're going to be wrapping up warm for South Dorset Point to Point at Milborne St Andrew on 2nd February; our first event of 2014.

Hopefully we'll be coming out the other side of the Winter and the keen gardeners amongst us will be in full swing of making plans for the garden for the rest of the year. Its the perfect time of year get your plant supports in place ready to train those little sweet pea seedlings waiting in anticipation in the greenhouse to be able to get outside and stretch their legs! They will simply LOVE our wigwam frames! Your peonies and roses will be dying out for some support later in the year so get it in place now to avoid having to battle with the plants when they're full of blossoms. Have a look at the website for some inspiration and come and see us at the Point to Point!

(We'll be supporting Team Tizzard all the way!!)

Sherborne Arts Centre Makers Market

Sherborne is doing a fantastic job of raising money for the well designed Community Arts Centre (http://www.scact.org.uk/) and as part of the fundraising Richard Hickman hosted a 'Makers Market' during the popular Festive Shopping Weekend in Sherborne.

The town was bustling with Christmas shoppers, brass bands, carol singers, local shops offering warming tipples, a farmer's market offering an incredible array of local produce and most importantly - a wonderfully happy atmosphere.

Our Swedish Candles were hugely popular (despite their size!) and were snapped up by excited shoppers looking for that 'something special'. One customer commented that had saved her a lot of difficulty trying to source a thoughtful present for her Millionnaire brother-in-law!

We are trying to keep up with the demand for the Swedish Candles and welcome any 'last minute' orders (with or without personalisation) up to the end of this week. As always - we offer FREE DELIVERY within 15 miles of Sherborne or Sturminster Newton. Each standard purchase includes a handmade base and a pre-sawn, seasoned pine log.
